Swirl Girl

Swirl Girl

Champion of whirl
From that, to this
Plans and promises
Projects and lists

What to start first?
What to finish the last?
If only a question of
Staying on task

All top priority
Of importance utmost
So what goes on hold?
She knows she knows

Center her world
Obligations reeling
Stop and name
This familiar feeling.

Instant of calm
This storm subsides
Moment of rest
A quiet resides

Then the wind blows again
And she’s up in a spin
Twirling and swirling
To no peaceful end?

Tiny Genie

Tiny genie
I dreamed her up
Of nothing she seems
No, nothing much.

Three easy wishes
Do come to mind
Something for nothing?
If she’d be so kind.

Satiate hunger
For popcorn with butter
Music that smiles
On souls like no other

Lastly, I wish
For strength where I tire
Seeking to find
My own hearts’ desire.

Baby Bundle

Baby Bundle
Precious gift from God
Your stay seems much too brief
Your spirit present
Touches us still
Reminder in heartfelt grief
Of radiant soul
Each a child are we
Sent as a package unique
To love and be loved
In the light of the Lord
Comfort and guidance we seek.

Butterfly Moon

Butterfly Moon
Please come soon
Soul longing for so long now

Anxious heart
Impatient with time
Not knowing if love dare avow

Butterfly Moon
Please come soon
Lone spirit fears she will miss you

May swift felt wings
Carry you near
And time be enough to kiss you

Butterfly Moon
Please come soon.

Dorothy May

Dorothy May
Happy and gay
Young do gleefully run
Yet neatly prim
And proper
Innocent self unhindered
She stands
Dorothy May naivete
How will you ever get home?
