A favorite book in my third grade classroom was Magic Eye. Remember that one? Over and over the kids would pick that book and stare at the pages until the hidden objects appeared out from under a sea of dots.
Magic Eye requires a special way of seeing. Looking directly doesn’t work. All you would see are the particles of color, seemingly random points in the field of no meaning. Unless, that is, you relax. Relax into the dimension just beyond the speckled surface of the page and there you have it. A splash of dolphins, a queen’s castle, or smiling gnome come into view only if you let go, soften your focus and breathe into a wider perspective.
Nice metaphor, huh? Relax. Soften your gaze so that hidden treasures come into focus, right before your eyes.
