The orchid bloomed today! Or was it yesterday? Sometime between dawn yesterday and 6AM this morning when I say my routine hello of admiration to this amazing plant, it happened. And this is the plant that crashed on Easter morning!! (See blog entry for April 5) It just seems miraculous that a being so far from its rain forest origins can thrive here in the MN clime.
Three buds unfurled these sea-creature-like blossoms. I’m in awe. I actually sat down in amazement to look at the intricate detail and fortitude masquerading in these delicate petals. I swear they could step right off the stem and walk across the floor.
Maybe I’d best go check to see if they are still there…
