I just returned from a week-long Awakened Wisdom Experience in the Mojave desert. Quite a change of climate for this Midwestern one, but it was called “Journey to the Unknown” after all. Part of the adventure included walking out into the desert landscape, selecting a small part of the land (or allowing it to choose me), and then spending 24 hours there as part of a solo vision quest. This bloom was one of the many wondrous beings that accompanied me through the cold moonlit night and the hot arid sunshine of day. How do such delicate flowers grow in such spiny conditions? The plants, stones and critters who, graciously or reluctantly, shared this portion of desert with me had much wisdom to share. I realized much during my stay, and am still in awe of the beauty of a nurtured relationship with nature.
So glad you got a chance to spend some time in the desert during this rough spell of awful spring weather. I was looking at your teaching/coaching schedule and there’s not much time for you to get away.
