Just came across this photo of a work in progress. Well, it’s done now, but seeing the mid-way point reminds me to appreciate the process.
How do we know when a piece of art is done, anyway? How do we not second guess ourselves and wonder if we’ve added just a bit too much or went a tad too far?
Remembering that all the layers are there, even if unseen, and the overall process can include, integrate and instill the best of all the intermediary stages.
Like browsing through an album of year-to-year school pictures, there’s something to appreciate about each moment. No regrets, no going back. Only appreciation. Takes some faithful practice for that.
