Remember whirlycopters? As kids we’d toss ’em up and watch ’em spin to the ground.
For the Walking in This World class that just started, I asked us all to find a metaphor for our intention. Perhaps out on a walk, or somewhere else, we were to find an object that would hold and represent what we wanted for our creative path throughout the course.
At first I wasn’t quite sure why I picked these funny whirling seeds, but they are fun, playful and quite ingenious. How can something so small and light fly so well? Some seeds just fall directly down, like walnuts or acorns. Not these! As much as they turn and turn in circles, gravity and the weight on one end gives them clear directions.
Maybe that’s what I want. Continued clear direction, permission for my non-linear nature, and light-weight abundant fun!
Nature shows us countless ways to spirit out.
How about you? What is the metaphor for your creative intention these days? It’s worth picking something, walk with it for a few weeks, and receive its lessons.
